Welcome to the oldest restaurant in Romania! Located on the border between the Upper Town and the Lower Town, dating back to 1542, the Golden Barrel lingers amid buildings with authentic medieval architecture in this beautiful place called The Stairs Passage. We invite you to enjoy the original medieval design, typical of the fourteenth century, like an old castle, which impresses with opulence hosted by massive walls plated with stone and hard wood furniture that, for a few hours, will lead you into the old days of somptuos feasts. Therefore, we fondly welcome you into this well-known place for its delicious food, restaurant where Voivode Michael the Brave himself dined before leaving for the battle of Şelimbăr. Immerse yourself in the scenery and atmosphere of our restaurant where there are still stories to be told and also many blessed feasts.
