Viseu de Sus is one of the beautiful towns of Maramures, with a picturesque landscape, consisting of: mountains, hills and valleys. Located at the confluence of the 2 rivers, Viseu and Vaser, Viseu de Sus is also known for the famous Mocanita, the steam train, used to transport wood from the forest and exploit it on the Vaser Valley - the local people being great craftsmen of wooden houses and churches .
Regardless of the season, Viseu de Sus is full of tourists, both from the country and from abroad to see both the traditions of the Easter holidays, Christmas and the rest of the year, as well as to enjoy the traditional dishes or to witness the various agricultural/household activities.
